    Hi All,

Its pretty cool that a forun like this exists. I got alot freaked out when my doctor first prescribed Duromine to me because I decided to web research the drug and didn't read good things about it.

Anyways....I am 34, female live in Australia and weighed 101kg when i started taking Duromine on 11 August. I started on the 15mg tabs and saw a result quickly. I lost 2kg within the first week. I had minor side effects the first day i hardly ate a thing, the second I ate a bit more....and then i had an epithany. I realised that the drug supress my appetite....it doesn't mean that the drug will be my fuel source, so i realised that i actually had to eat!

In doing so i started making healthier food choices, drank heaps of water and started boot camp. It has now been about 5 weeks, and I am down to 96kg! I am stoked! I have been trying to shift weight for so long now, and its great to see something is actually working.

My doctor has now put me on 30mg and i hope this will continue in the right direction. I hope to get support from this support and hopefully inspire others to keep on the weightloss journey!

    Good luck all!

well another week has gone and i am now down to 94.8kg!!! the tabs still work at supressing my appetite, but i am still eating regular smallr healthier meals.

For thos that have an i-phone have a great app called MyFitnessPal which allows you to record what you eat and it returns with the daily calorie count, fats, carbs, vitamins etc. It also allows exercise input and records weight and measurements. Its similar to Calorie King but an i-version. It also gives motivationaly messages and helps reinforce the healthy eating aspect of weight loss.

I have been participating in bootcamp for 4 weeks now, and have gone from huffing and puffing after running 300m to running 3.2km last week!!! YEAH

My face is becoming thinner and i can see the thunder thighs toning up and slimming down....AWESOME!

I'm also new to this, and started taking the tablets 3 days ago. So far, so good. Have only had the dry mouth side effect, so happy about that. sleep hasn't been an issue, but I'm also the type of person who falls asleep in the cinema. Seriously!

I agree about the MyFitnessPal app. I love it and it has really kept me motivated. I would love to know if I've lost any weight yet, but I'm scared. I'm on the medication as I exercise a minimum of 4 times a week and eat healthily, and the weight just isn't shifting. I started at just under 98kg, so it's not like I'm close to my goal or anything. I've lost 27kg leading up to this point, so i hit a plateau and was unable to overcome it on my own.

Anyways, good luck to everyone, and I hope we can keep each other motivated!

PS. Congratulations on your weight loss.

    Hey everyone

Day fouron duromine and going goodish I THINK more of that later. I am using this site to track my progress (one thing duromine has achieved is made me more productive) i feel something has clicked and i am ready to set about this properly i have my food journal, my thinspiration hanging on the fridge, my plan for when im finished thought out unlike before im not going in all guns blazing starving myself it will never work THIS IS A WHOLE LIFESTYLE CHANGE and for once i am feeling good about the word DIET but before i give you my play by play ill give yu a little background knowledge as to why i am endevouring on this journey

So... i moved to scotland when i was 19 fell in love blah blah blah got implanon in(and it was cold) it was pretty much all down hill from there put on 15 kg moved home one year later got implanon out yoyo dieted like a mad woman up down up down got down and had about 6kg to go got implanon back in 6 mnths ago and BAM hello ten kg. Before i moved i was always slim never dieted never excercised averaged one meal a day and sat around 64kg im 188cm so it all seemed to even out and then a little cold weather and finally being smart about contraception and get a big kickin the teeth so this is how the journey began

before i start one thing ill let you know I DONT NEED A DRUG TO SEND ME CRAZY I AM CAPABLE OF DOING THAT MYSELF!

    weight 85kg
    height 188cm
    age 22
    GIRL

    Day one

i had read horror stories about sleeping so i set my alarm for 7:00am ( i like my sleep) took the tablet went back to sleep until 9:30 had an abundance of energey all day to begin with i start panicking cause i dont feel differant but then thinking im panicking more than usual must be working so back and forth i went until i called my mother to calm me. terribly dry mouth and drank about 3ltrs of water was not hungry at all but made myself eat feel asleep around 9:30

    Day two

Woke at 5:30 managed to get back to sleep at until about 7 took the tablet same again heaps of energy dry mouth oh and a killer effing headache after about 5pm noticing i am full of beans and then SO SO SO cranky at night oh and i am powering through some amount of cigs. went to be at 11:30

    Day three

BACK TO WORK i was abit worried about this but all in all it was fine made the day go quicker, i woke at about 8 pottered around got ready for work and headed shopping before i started couldnt sit still. not hungry but making myself eat no headache today YIPEE have been averaging about 680 cals a day not much but all i can stomach i think this is helping with the imsomnia side effect because by the time i work and go for a walk my body is running on nothing bed at 10;30

    day four

woke at 6:50 fresh as a daisy went to work thought i felt a little hungary today but when i look back over what i ate it has been the least yet as i said i dont need a drug to send me round the twist i can do that to myself only had 628 cals today 11:19 AWAKE dont know whats going, on my bf is really noticing my crankyness now lol

all in all i still send myself abit nutty that it isnt working because i am not experiencing any of the horrific side effects everyone so freely pushed on me but so far in four days i have lost about 2.5 kg but i dont want to commit to an achievement until the end of the week.

ill keep you updated SORRY FOR THE ESSAY

Thanks for all the comments and sharing your stories.

A Kick Start - I'm not sure how long I am going to take the tabs for. My doctor gave me 3 repeats for the 30mg but i don't know if i want to stay on them for so long. The great thing is, is that they are definately reinforcing my new eating and fitness habits.

Yesterday i had a bad turn...i got a stomach bug which resulted in about 7 hrs of vomitting! :(

I've yet to eat anything yet today but thats because of my sensitive stomach from the bug as opposed to the tabs.

    Yeah news.....now at 93.8kg!!!;)

Hi Kailz, great job in kickstarting your weight loss achievements. Can I offer you some advice....don't restrict yourself to 600cals....you are putting your body in starvation mode. Aim for about 1500 cals. I know that sounds alot but it really isnt.

Good luck, and let us know how you are progressing

woot woot! I am now down to 92.0kg....that's 1 kg off my first goal (losing 10kg)....In doing the maths i have been able to loss just under 1 kg a week. Nice and consistent.

The only side effect from Duromine is the dry mouth still, but i like that as it makes me continue to drink water. Other things that i've been doing...bootcamp once a week, softball once a week, 5km walk once a week. Eating habits have changed, eating healthier smaller meals. No more huge portions...infrequent salt/sugar cravings. I'm still using Myfitnesspal to help monitor calorie intake and exercise (great motivation).

For a while i wasn't moving any weight, so i changed my calorie intake goal from 1550 to 1450 a day and its amazing how that kick started the weight loss. I hope others are having similar success! Would love to hear your stories

Nice work Archer! Congrats thats awesome!

I have an app on my Iphone that records my weight every day and I love it. Up or down..I have been keeping it for a few months now, so it will be interesting to see how I go now Im taking the tablets. It creates this little graph and I think its too cool!

Theres also another one that estimates your daily calories for how much weight you want to lose in a certain time frame. It will tell you if you can do it or if it is dangerous or impossible. Thats good too.

If you have iphone just look in the free apps under weight loss and theres all different ones you can try.
    Have a skinny weekend :)
