    Re: started taking duromine 23/10/2011

    Hi boom16,
Gotta tell ya, l was also worried about the side effects but they were bearable at the begining, headaches lasted a few days only, just remember to keep hydrated, and take panadol if you want...i only ended up taking one months worth because l got uncomfortable (not really painful) headaches toward the last week of the month on the 30mg. i lost nearly 9 Kgs in the month so now lm at 86kgs.
Dont be afraid and take them, give them a go cause they are very effective. Xmas & new years time is hard and l saved a couple of pills for those eating days...so l have not craved the array of food available.

I wish everyone the best for 2012...start the year with a few Kgs less and it'll make you feel and look great!!

Alitim, l hope your operation was successful...hope you asked your doctor about incorporating Duromine post operation, I personally think you shouldn't due to interactions with other drugs etc...keep your doc. informed and just resume Duromine when ur over it all and back in your usual routine. Remember any operation requires healing time and good nutrition is important in wound healing so its no good not eating right. Let us know how you are!

Hi Patience, nice to get some feedback from you. I have a confession to make, I still havent commenced on the tablets! eek I know Im such a chicken. I had to go back to my doctor because I have a torn meniscus in my knee and he asked me how I was going on Duro. I told him I hadnt started and he was a little perplexed that I was so insistent he prescribe them to me and I spent $100 on filling the script and have failed at taking them. I cant exercise with my very painful knee but I am going to bite the bullet and have set my alarm for 4am and will be taking my first tablet finally. I have the weekend to start on and hopefully on monday I will be ok as I have to go to work. So here goes.........

I really love all your postings Melb, Trish and Patience, you have all been my inspiration as I havent told a soul (even my hubby!) as he works away. So I have 3 weeks to get this happening before he gets home. Please keep posting, if it werent for your advice and suggetions I know I would have just wiped this failed attempt under the carpet as I have done with many, many other attempts in the past to get my life back. Thank you and best wishes to you all for further success.

    Re: started taking duromine 23/10/2011

Hi there, I started taking Duromine 30mg in Oct 2011 starting weight was 98.9 and am now 90.7, so have only lost 8.2 kgs in nearly 3 months. I thought I would of lost alot more but my doc says that anything from 500grams to a kilo is good and slow and steady is best. I don't eat alot, avoid carbs and fast most of the time and most days replace a meal with a Fernwood slim shake and have been going to the gym at least 4 times a week. Not sure where I am going wrong and why more weight isn't coming off ?? any tips?? I thought it may because I lost 14 kgs from Aug-10 to Oct-11 by myself and are just at a plateau, hence the reason I went and got Duromine. Dunno??
